How I do open an NPS account online ?

An applicant to the NPS process , would need the following documents . This is irrespective of the model selected either Citizen or Corporate model. In addition to the NPS account opening form , Self attested copies , of the any below mentioned documents, must be submitted along with the Subscriber application form. In case of subscriber preferring only Tier 1 account can use the normal form or the composite form for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 . She can also apply for Tier 2 after the creation of the Tier 1 form. Certain Pops provide both Online and Offline mode of submitting forms.

It is to be noted that the Government would require hard copies and hence it is mandatory to submit the applications in Originals.

The Following may be notes for a better understanig of the issues related to accepting KYC documentation as mentioned above:

a) If the address on the document submittes for identity proof by the prospective customer is same as that declares by him/her in the account opening form, the document may be accepted as a valid proof of both identity and address.

b) If the address indicated on the document submittes for identity proof differs form the current address mentioned in the account opening form, a separate proof of address should be obtained.
